AbstractA partir do final dos anos 90, os centros de imagens de sensoriamento remoto de todo o mundo passaram a converter seus dados para acesso online, tornando-os disponíveis em páginas na Internet chamadas catálogos de imagens. O problema é que cada um desses centros, disponibiliza independentemente seus dados. Como as máquinas de busca na Internet não foram projetadas para descobrir dados geográficos, fica a cargo do usuário, as tediosas tarefas de encontrar as fontes de dados relevantes, interagir isoladamente com cada uma delas e combinar os dados das múltiplas fontes manualmente. Neste contexto, seria desejável haver uma porta de entrada comum (geoportal), de onde os vários centros de imagens espalhados pelo mundo pudessem ser acessados, tornando transparente ao usuário as singularidades de cada um. O foco desse trabalho, portanto, será na proposta de um geoportal que seja capaz de integrar os catálogos dos diferentes centros de imagens, sem que os centros precisem migrar suas arquiteturas atuais para uma arquitetura específica. Para isso, partimos da hipótese que uma arquitetura de mediação é uma forma flexível e eficiente de construir um geoportal global para imagens de sensoriamento remoto. Os três componentes dessa arquitetura: portal, mediador e fontes de dados, serão analisados e especificados. A tecnologia de web services será avaliada como a solução que implementará essa arquitetura. A prova de conceito será um experimento que integrará os dados CBERS distribuídos pelo INPE em um geoportal existente (eoPortal), para validar o {{}} uso da arquitetura de mediação e analisar os aspectos positivos e as deficiências desse geoportal. ABSTRACT: At the end of the 1990's decade, the remote sensing images centers around the world began to allow online access to their data, making it available on Internet pages called images catalogues. The problem, however, is that each of these centers divulges their data independently. And as the Internet search tools have not been designed to locate geographic data, the tedious work of nding the relevant data sources, of interacting with each one of them separately and of manually combining the multiple sources is left to the user. In this context, we consider that a common geoportal is necessary. This portal would provide access to the various data centers around the world. The objective of this work, therefore, is to propose a geoportal capable of integrating the catalogues of the dierent images centers without these centers having to migrate their current computational architectures to a specic architecture. In this work, the mediator architecture is considered a exible and ecient way of building a global geoportal for remote sensing images. The three components of this architecture, portal, mediator and data sources, will be analyzed and specied. The web services technology, as a solution for implementing this architecture, will also be analyzed. As a demonstration prototype, we have integrated the CBERS data distributed by INPE in an existing geoportal. This application allows us to evaluate the application of the mediator architecture and to analyze the positive and scientic aspects of this geoportal.
